Dems want to hand $44 billion

Dems want to hand $44 billion to illegals

Provisions in Dream Act qualify undocumented for fed money.

Want to know how the lame ducks in Congress plan to "cut" federal spending – which seemed to be a dominating theme of the 2010 elections? They're proposing a plan to take upwards of $44 billion a year from taxpayers and hand it over to illegal aliens who are in the United States so they can go to college.
The plan is called the Dream Act, for Development, Relief and Education of Alien Minors, and its critics know it as an amnesty program for illegal aliens. Its supporters say anyone who doesn't want to spend the money on college subsidies for illegal aliens is "racist."
But policy experts are warning the act is truly transformative and in the end, among other things, would authorize federal loans to literally millions of newly qualified applicants and provide a preference for the children of illegal aliens in state college admissions.
  • Section 3 of the bill repeals Section 505 of the "Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996" (8 U.S. Code 1623) which currently prohibits the government from giving educational benefits to any "unlawfully present individual," thus ensuring that illegal aliens will qualify for "in-state tuition," at the state college of their choice, even if they live in another state.
  • Section 10 of the act enables illegal aliens who receive amnesty under the bill's general provisions to apply for federally guaranteed student loans under Title IV of the "Higher Education Act of 1965" (20 U.S. Code, et seq.), including Stafford Loans, Perkins Loans, Federal Direct Stafford/Ford loans, federal work-study programs and federally sponsored tutoring and counseling.
  • Another section of the bill ensures that illegal aliens can continue to receive these federal student loans, which are often used to cover living expenses, as well as tuition, over the course of eight years, even if they do not complete a college degree.

THE COST OF URBAN RENEWAL IN CANYON COUNTY (every property owner in the county gets to pay for urban renewal, even if you don’t live in a defined UR district)
I was recently asked what the cost of Urban Renewal was in Canyon County. The results of the research are as follows:

If you are a taxpayer living in the County and not within the cities of Caldwell, Nampa or Middleton your property taxes per $100,000.00 of assessed value are *$88.41 higher than they would be if Caldwell, Nampa and Middleton were not using your tax dollars for Urban Renewal Projects.

If you live within Caldwell your property taxes per *$100,000.00 of assessed value are $210.14 higher than they would be if Caldwell was not using your tax dollars for Urban Renewal Projects, and when the county share of the 3 districts $88.41 is added the taxes are then $298.55 per $100,000.00

If you live within Nampa your property taxes per $100,000.00 of assessed value are $37.46 higher than they would be if Nampa was not using your tax dollars for Urban Renewal Projects, , and when the county share of the 3 districts $88.41is added the taxes are then $125.87 per $100,000.00

If you live in Middleton your property taxes per $100,000.00 of assessed value are $4.75 higher than they would be if Middleton was not using your tax dollars for Urban Renewal Project, , and when the county share of the 3 districts $88.41 is added the taxes are then $93.16 per $100,000

Total of your taxes paid to Urban Renewal Agencies in Canyon County during 2010 is $9,980,268.13
Average levies for FY 2010 were utilized in determining the tax amounts for the County and the Cities. The exact levy can only be determined by a property analysis, but would vary only slightly.
Sources are the Idaho State Tax Commission and the tax data from the Canyon County Assessors office.
And still they spend money on quick and short jobs, so they don't have to hire more unemployed people Canyon County is still at 10.5 unemployment

The Story Behind Germany’s Terror Threat

Germany is currently in a state of high alert. Security officials are warning that they have concrete information pointing to a possible terror attack on the federal parliament building in Berlin, a massively popular tourist attraction. The days of Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière’s reserved stances in dealing with such warnings appear to be over.
The call came from abroad, and the man speaking hurriedly on the other end of the line sounded as if he feared for his life. He wanted out, he told the officers of the German Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) — out of the terrorist scene. He wanted to come back to Germany, back to his family. Then he asked if German officials could help him.

Afghan 'peace talks' impostor paid by MI6

A man posing as a Taliban leader who had talks with Afghanistan's president was paid and promoted by British intelligence, a newspaper said yesterday. British Secret Intelligence Service (SIS) agents paid Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour from May this year, believing they had achieved an "historic breakthrough" in forging contacts between the Taliban and the Afghan government, The Times said.

"Far from being a former Taliban government minister, the individual concerned is now thought to have been a shopkeeper, a minor Taliban commander, or simply a well-connected chancre from the Pakistani border city of Quetta," it said. "The British were convinced of the man's bona fides and flew "Mansour" from Quetta to Kabul on a British C130 transport aircraft on a number of occasions," it reported.
Intelligence officers based in Islamabad made contact with the man and it was believed that the US had helped Britain check the man's bona fides, The Times reported. He was then flown from the southwestern Pakistani city of Quetta to Kabul on Royal Air Force Hercules planes on several occasions, adds AFP.
Afghan officials told The Times that a meeting took place with Karzai in his Kabul palace, although Afghan President Karzai denied on Tuesday that there had been any such meeting.

Karzai said his government had not met anyone named Mansour. US newspapers including The New York Times said earlier this week that a man described as a "Taliban leader" who had taken part in "secret peace talks" with the Afghan government was in fact an impostor. On Tuesday, The Washington Post reported two senior Afghan officials believed the man was a "lowly shopkeeper" from Quetta, the Pakistan town where the Taliban leadership fled in 2001. Asked for comment, a Foreign Office spokesman said: "We can neither confirm nor deny details of operations."

Newspaper reports in the United States and Europe last month raised interest that high-level talks, sponsored by Nato, had been held between the Afghan government and Taliban leaders.
The Times quoted a senior Afghan government official as saying on Thursday: "British Intelligence was naive and there was wishful thinking on our part."

Sarah Palin foreign policy

In recent days, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has hinted in her clearest language yet that she is seriously considering a run for the presidency in 2012. Many observers have argued that Palin could never win because of her embarrassing lack of expertise, knowledge, or interest in foreign policy. Her appearance on Fox News host Glenn Beck’s radio show today, captured by Oliver Willis, suggests they may be right:
CO-HOST: How would you handle a situation like the one that just developed in North Korea? [...]
PALIN: But obviously, we’ve got to stand with our North Korean allies. We’re bound to by treaty –
CO-HOST: South Korean.
PALIN: Eh, Yeah. And we’re also bound by prudence to stand with our South Korean allies, yes.

This got me upset

Lets get the facts straight first. Before the video started the boy went through a metal detector and didn't set it off but was selected for a pat down. The boy was shy so the TSA couldn't complete the full pat on the young boy.

Sent to me by the Ronpaul group

I attended todays Health Care Task Force meeting, and have a question, which I will also be directing to Heidi Low, who brought this issue before the committee.
If this proposal (tax increase on tobacco) is NOT just to suckle more revenue OUT of the pockets of the taxpayers and into GOVT coffers, wouldn't it be cheaper, and easier to implement a withdrawal of Medicaid benefits to smokers? Wouldnt it be prudent, and in our best interest, to find out how many on Medicaid are smokers?
Smokers who ALREADY have health insurance are ALREADY paying higher premiums to thier insurance providers. So why should the State be allowed to legally plunder these individuals who are already taking responsiblity financially for thier healthcare?
Most importantly, if you choose to buy tobacco products, why should the GOVT force the rest of society to pay for the consequences of your personal decision to use tobacco, by covering you on Medicaid?
This proposal is being made UNDER THE GUISE of taking care of people (on Medicaid), and by deferring people from starting smoking, but in REALITY is a simply a plan to raise taxes.
Why wouldn't it be more logical, cheaper, and easier to implement this proposal? It would also make INDIVIDUALS responsible for thier own behavior, rather than a NANNY STATE taking care of citizen smokers who refuse to do it for themselves. (if you can afford tobacco, you can defer that $ to your own healthcare, but choose not to)
Is there a way to find out how many Medicaid recipients are smokers? We could then calculate the savings the State would get from removing those who smoke from recieving Medicaid, lowering the burden on ALL taxpayers, and reducing the size of government at the same time.
Thanks for your time, and I am eagerly awaiting your response.
